Tabletop Collection

The vases were first 3D modeled to refine the desired form, then 3D printed to create a master. The print was primed, sanded to remove layer lines, and finished with a smooth satin paint. A three-part plaster mold was made around the master, which was then used for slip casting with liquid clay. The resulting hollow ceramic forms were fired, glazed, and fired again to achieve the final finish.

Ceramic Vases

The trays were first shaped with a wood and foam form to define the desired contours. Two sheets of wood were soaked in hot water, then glued and stapled around the form to manipulate the wood into the intended shape. The assembly was vacuum-sealed to maintain its shape during drying. Once dry, the edges were cut and refined, then the surface was sanded and finished with a white wash stain and clear sealant to achieve the final finish.

Ceramic Flop Dish

The dish was first rolled from clay into a flat slab and impressed with a diamond-esque pattern. The textured slab was then flopped over a form to shape the dish. Once stiffened, the edges were trimmed and refined, and the surface was smoothed. The piece was bisque fired, glazed with a rich blue finish, and fired again to achieve the final glossy surface.
