Achievements

  • On March 9, 2014, William Clay Ford, who helped steer Ford Motor Company into the modern era as an employee, director and influential member of the Ford family, passed away at his home. Throughout his career, he was instrumental in setting the company’s design direction, overseeing the development of a number of classic vehicles, including the Continental Mark II, considered by many to be one of the most iconic cars ever built. Given his outstanding contributions to the field of automotive design, Ford Motor Company Fund has established an automotive design scholarship fund in his name – The William Clay Ford Automotive Design Scholarship. The Ford Motor Company Fund Board of Trustees has approved a grant in the amount of $1,000,000 to establish the William Clay Ford Automotive Design Scholarship. This grant will be paid out at the rate of $50,000 per year over 20 years, to support the awarding of five $10,000 scholarships to support outstanding college sophomores or juniors from various institutions pursuing a degree in the area of automotive design.

  • Our mission is to create an environment at LTU that enriches the personal and professional lives of the member students by promoting excellence in education, collaboration, and multi-discipline spanning skill building relating to Industrial Design. Coming together to build a better foundation for our future, we consider ourselves as family, with older members guiding underclassmen and knowledge being shared freely.

President’s Role:  This student is the primary student contact for IDSA; the “external spokesperson” of the group that regularly interacts with other student organizations and University officials. Also responsible for making sure that each meeting is planned effectively. They must make the most of all his/her committed members, guiding them to success.

  • The program invites talented incoming architecture & design students to present five images of creative work that showcase past accomplishments, highlight current interests, and describe future aspirations. The faculty invites works in a range of media, at varying scales, and with a variety of intentions. I won this award for my ceramic flop dish, Deep Blue

  • O'RHO's are members of Chi Omega Rho, a local sorority based in Southfield, Michigan. Founded on Lawrence Technological University's campus in 1978, we are the only one of our kind! Chi Omega Rho was founded by eight devoted women who helped the sorority grow to become one of the most established sororities on campus. The motto we live by is “Purity in the bonds of sisterhood and the awakening of womanhood”.

Chi Omega Rho is a close group of young women who support each other in their social and academic growth throughout college and for years after graduation. Not only are they involved with other organizations, philanthropies, and fundraisers, but they share a bond of sisterhood that creates a much needed support system and lifelong friendships.

    Positions Held:

  • Each year Chi Omega Rho continues to advance their mission of awarding a scholarship to an incoming female freshman who has demonstrated leadership skills, involvement in her community, and excelled in her studies. For this Scholarship applicants submit an essay describing their leadership and community involvement.

  • Lawrence Tech automatically reviews any accepted student for a merit scholarship. The scholarship review committee conducts a merit-based, holistic review for each accepted student. The committee looks at many factors including a student’s incoming GPA, the courses a student has taken in high school, and the rigor of those courses. Presidential Merit is the highest merit scholarship LTU awards.
